Welcome to Sprouting Pediatrics! We offer experienced occupational therapy, speech language therapy, feeding therapy and myofunctional therapy to families located in Calgary, Alberta.

Sprouting Pediatrics aims to provide compassionate and evidence based support to families. ​Therapists at Sprouting Pediatrics offer specialized knowledge in feeding, oral motor development, tethered oral tissue (TOTs), and orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs). This provides a holistic evaluation of your child's development and optimizes an effective treatment plan, guiding a successful start to your child's feeding and oral motor journey.

Our Occupational Therapist and Speech Language Pathologists not only focus on feeding and oral motor skills, but support your child's overall growth and development. Occupational therapy may focus on sensory regulation, fine motor skills, oral motor skills, sleep and play. How do I know if my child needs feeding therapy?
Typically, families describe their child as a ‘picky eater’ or report mealtime challenges related but not limited to:

Mealtime behaviours (e.g. frustration or avoidance)

Limited food repertoire or rigidity around food

Difficulty progressing to new textures

Current or previous challenges with breastfeeding

Feeding & Oral Motor Support
Comprehensive feeding assessment and occupational therapy support with feeding, eating. tethered oral tissues and oral motor skill development.

Occupational therapy support for fine motor, sleep, sensory regulation, and play skills. We now offer services in-home and in-clinic to meet your family’s needs.

In-home speech and language therapy focusing on speech sounds, receptive and expressive language skills, social communication skills, literacy skills and augmentative communication.

Myofunctional Therapy (MYO)
